Anchorman lookalikes introduce the new Anchorman inspired ice cream in… (Ben and Jerry's )
Baxter, did you eat that entire tub of ice cream in the freezer? We’re not even mad, that’s amazing.
In an ode to Ron Burgandy and the upcoming Anchorman sequel, Ben and Jerry’s has announced the release of Scotchy, Scotch Scotch, a limited-edition butterscotch overload flavor set to hit store shelves in the coming weeks.
The flavor is a mix of butterscotch ice cream with butterscotch swirls, an homage to the fictional San Diego news anchor's spirit of choice. It follows several other batches that honor pop-culture icons, including Stephen Colbert’s Americone Dream and Jimmy Fallon’s Late Night Snack.
The official unveiling for the flavor in New York included Nutty the Waterskiing Squirrel (who appeared in the first "Anchorman") and an appearance by the Ch. 4 News Truck. The tongue-and-cheek press release also noted a “malt liquor marshmallow, well liquor bourbon peanut butter and cheap white wine sherbet” was a rejected blend for the new flavor.
The company said fans can track the roll out of the flavor in stores on their website. "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" opens in theaters Dec. 20.
