The riot is long gone from Humboldt Park, but the damage it left in its wake has now been tallied.

It will cost an estimated $54,300 to repair the park to its original condition after Riot Fest, Chicago Park District Spokesperson Marta Juaniza said. Aeration of the grounds and grass seeding will begin this fall around the perimeter of the part, and work in the area of the baseball fields will be held until spring to allow programming and activities to continue this fall.

Juaniza said higher attendance this year and a rainy final day of the festival contributed to the damages. The organizers of Riot Fest are responsible for the cost of the damages.

The price tag pales in comparison to larger fests like Lollapalooza, which this year was estimated at $220,000.
