A suburban man was arrested Friday for trying to steal money and cases of beer from Theater on the Lake, the Chicago Park District performance space, county prosecutors said.

Jeremy Morrison, of Bridgeview, Ill., and a companion broke into the North Side theater Sept. 1, prosecutors said, where they stole two cases of Coors Light beer from the bar inside the performance venue and about $1,000 they found. Police officers observed Morrison loading the beer into a garbage can and wheeling it away in a hand truck, according to the police report.

When police approached, Morrison fled on foot and escaped, the report said, but he was arrested almost a week later and identified as one of the burglars. Prosecutors said his companion had already been arrested earlier this month, but police officials were not able to identify him this afternoon.

Morrison was brought to the Cook County Criminal Courthouse on Monday afternoon and ordered held on $90,000 bond.
