Two men were arrested Monday morning on charges of assaulting two men outside of The Mid, a nighclub on Halsted Street, county prosecutors said. One man was allegedly stabbed in the butt during the scuffle, leaving an inch-deep puncture wound.

George Vitzileos, 23, and Thomas Vitzileos, 21, who are related and live together in Portage Park, were arrested early Monday morning on two counts of aggravated battery after both men were accused of starting a fight up the block from The Mid's 221 N. Halsted St. location according to court records.

Prosecutors said the two men were in a car with two other men, leaving the club around 4 a.m. when they saw a 22-year-old man they had seen in the club earlier that night.

"You're not so tough now that you're alone, are you?" The 22 year-old told police he heard shouted at him from the car. He ran, according to the police report, but George and Thomas Vitzileos followed on foot. They knocked the man to the ground and began beating him with their fists and metal knuckles, the report said. The man was also stabbed, the report said, and was treated at Rush University Medical Center for an inch-deep puncture wound.

A 39-year-old witness was also beaten by the two men after he tried to help, the report said.

A Mid spokesman said the two men who were allegedly attacked are employed by the club as bouncers.

The Vitzileoses were arrested several hours later, the police report said, when they came to the 12th District police station to file a complaint against The Mid and were identified as the offenders in the assaults.

Both men appeared at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse Tuesday afternoon and each were  ordered held on $100,000 bond.
