A woman was arrested on charges of aggravated battery after she took a bite out of her cousin's nose, permanently disfiguring her, county prosecutors said.

Damika Robinson, 39, of the 1500 block of East 61st Street in Woodlawn, was at a party at her 38-year-old cousin's home in Marquette Park on Aug. 4 when the women began arguing, prosecutors said. The confrontation allegedly turned violent, with Robinson assaulting the woman and at one point biting her several times on the face, "including a bite that removed her nose," the police report said.

Prosecutors said the woman was treated for her injuries at a local hospital, but two-thirds of her nose could not be saved.

Robinson was arrested at her home Wednesday morning and brought to the Cook County Criminal Courthouse Thursday afternoon. She was ordered held in lieu of a $225,000 bond.
