Chef Ashlee Aubin devotes Wednesday to a five-course dinner served family-style using produce completely sourced from Genesee Growers in St. Anne, Ill. Dine on roasted and pickled eggplant with sweet peppers and spicy sausage, roasted chicken with sweet corn succotash and cornbread and more. A vegetarian option also is available. 5-9:30 p.m. $30.

The wine and cheese bistro expands its summer offerings with chef Chrissy Camba's seasonal takes on comfort and street foods including Foie Gras-lote Corn on the Cob (grilled corn with smoked paprika, lime and foie gras torchon pate; $15) and roasted pork shoulder with cornbread puree and bacon-braised collard greens ($18). 5-11 p.m.

Rockit Ranch Productions' Theodore Venable hosts a double feature screening of "Heavyweights" and "Troop Beverly Hills" with grown-up summer camp treats including $5 Dirty Girl Scout shots or S'more Milkshakes, complimentary Campfire Popcorn and more, plus an arts and crafts-themed intermission tutorial featuring a DIY scout vest and friendship bracelet. 7 p.m. No cover.

Vocalo Overdrive hosts Luis Antonio Perez and Shantell Jamison and local writer-performers Erin Diamond and Nico Lang share tales on the theme of "Roommate Horror Stories" with musical interludes by Reclaimed Soul host DJ Ayana Contreras. Share your own five-minute roommate nightmare tale during the open mic. The evening includes a cash bar and the show is recorded for broadcast. 7-9 p.m.
