DRINK

Grand Opening

CH Distillery 564 W. Randolph St. 312-707-8780

Chicago's first distillery-slash-cocktail-bar takes its name from the basic elements in alcohol—carbon and hydrogen—and features 48 seats, an Eastern European-inspired bar snack pairing menu and $11 classic and craft selections with housemade spirits such as the Oxycontin Cocktail (tea-infused gin, ginger syrup, honey, lemon) and the Czech Mate (cinnamon- and spice-infused vodka, grapefruit, honey syrup). 5-11 p.m.

DO

Story Club South Side

Co-Prosperity Sphere 3219 S. Morgan St. 773-837-0145

Throw your to-do list out the window and instead hear stories told in "list" form by Chicago writers Aubrey Henretty, Gwynn Fulcher and Ray Teresi at this BYOB showcase. If sharing a story of your own is on your to-do list, sign up for one of three open mic slots—eight minute limit, written or no-notes, list structure not required. 7:30 p.m. $5 suggested donation.

Black Star Comedy

Estrella Negra 2346 W. Fullerton Ave. 773-227-5993

Grab a half-priced vegetarian entree at this Bucktown restaurant and head down to the tricked-out basement (expect a nude lady statue, funky lamps, colorful Mexican art) for BYOB stand-up sets by Chicago comedians Krystal LaFianza-Pitzen, Mike Lebovitz, Jay Washington, Ryan Walker, Mike Knish, Mary Novokhovsky and host Rachel Kaboff. 7 p.m. No cover.
