Two bike-riding, West Englewood men were arrested Wednedsay for robbing a Washington Park teenager of his Express brand vest, prosecutors said. But first, the men tried to take his pants, prosecutors said.

County prosecutors said the young men, Anthony Hale, 18, and Tyrone Williams, 21, both of the 7200 block of South Paulina Street, were riding bicycles when they approached a 19-year-old. The defendants allegedly demanded the teenager give them his vest, and when he refused, they demanded his pants and shoes as well. At one point they unsuccessfully tried to yank his pants off his legs, prosecutors said.

The defendants punched and kicked the teenager, knocking him to the ground, according to court records, and took his vest before he was able to flee, according to court records. The teen was treated at Holy Cross Hospital for his injuries, which included a split lip, head bump, and abdominal pain, prosecutors said.

The defendants fled on their bikes, according to court records.

Hale and Wiliams were brought to the Cook County Criminal Courthouse on Thursday afternoon and were both held on $80,000 bond.
