Survey finds singles aren't satisfied

You’re single. You’re not satisfied with the amount of romance in your life. You’re not alone.

Zoosk.com has the numbers to prove it.

In celebration of Romance Awareness Month, the online dating service surveyed more than 1,500 singles to find out if singles are satisfied with the amount of romance in their lives and which gender is the most romantic.

The survey found that 80 percent of men and 73 percent of women are not happy in the romance department. The numbers also show that 81 percent of women and 69 percent of men believe women are the more romantic gender.

But the survey didn’t stop there. It asked about everything from preferred first date activities to the most romantic occasions.

The majority (57 percent) polled said an anniversary was the most romantic occasion. A first date was second with 24 percent of the votes and, surprisingly, only 19 percent picked Valentine’s Day as most romantic.

As far as first date activities, 34 percent of singles said they preferred a surprise first date.

On that first date, 27 percent of singles find it most romantic to hold hands and 25 percent said it’s most romantic when their dates lean in for a kiss. Just 15 percent of singles said it’s most romantic when it’s obvious their date dressed up for the outing.
