Free 'Red 2'-inspired doughnuts and coffee on Thursday

You may not have a ton of interest in "Red 2," a sequel to the 2010 film you either didn't see or passively watched for five minutes on HBO during a particularly lazy/hungover Sunday.

You almost certainly have a much greater desire for free doughnuts and coffee, however, even if they're being used as a promotional tie-in for an action film starring Bruce Willis, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren as formerly retired intelligence operatives. Between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Thursday at Wabash and VanBuren--a press release notes that the CNA Building is our skyline's only red building; I'm sure everyone pursuing free stuff really cares about the accuracy of the promotion--the first 400 people in attendance can snag free coffee and red doughnuts with red sprinkles from Beaver's Coffee and Donuts.

Staff on hand will also give away sunglasses, hats and other items related to the film, which opens Friday. You decide if you're hoping for free tickets, or if you'd rather have another doughnut.
