Cubs broadcaster Len Kasper said there's a number of local bands that are on the verge of doing big things beyond the Windy City. Here are some of his favorites:

>> "There's a great singer named Jennifer Hall. She's starting to tour outside of the city a little bit more. I would definitely check her out when she's here in Chicago."

>> The Steepwater Band, they've been around for a while and they're starting to get some national recognition. They tour a lot. Great blues band.

>> "The Handcuffs, big fan of The Handcuffs."

>> "Scott Lucas and his new band The Married Men. Scott's from Local H and I really like his new band.

>> "Jason Narducy who plays with Bob Mould. [He's a] great bass player. He has a new band called Split Single. I haven't seen them live yet but I've heard some of their songs. Real good power pop and I think they've got a chance to be really big."
