Call it one more reason to remember to wear a seatbelt.

A suburban man was arrested early Tuesday morning when police officers pulled him over in his car for not wearing a seatbelt, only to discover thousands of dollars worth of drugs in his car.

Ryan Sargis, 38, was charged with possession of over more  than $23,000 worth of Ecstasy pills, LSD tablets printed with smiley faces and methamphetamines, which officers said they found in the car in plastic bags and boxes, according to state prosecutors.

Sargis had been driving on Lake Shore Drive near Uptown without a valid drivers license when he was pulled over, according to the police report.

Sargis appeared at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse Tuesday afternoon and was held on $100,000 bond.
