When an Englewood man walked into a Lincoln Park apartment realty office on North Clark Street Sunday afternoon, he said he wanted to rent an apartment, according to state prosecutors. But when the realtor left his office to get the man an application, he allegedly stole an iPhone from the office desk and bolted.

Marckell Giles, 20, of the 57000 block of South Aberdeen Street, was arrested Sunday afternoon on Diversey Parkway for stealing the realtor's iPhone, minutes after he left the office. Police officials said Giles was brought back to the office and identified by the iPhone owner, but Giles denied stealing it.

"I didn't do it, I'm grown, the girls did it, they put in the bag," he allegedly shouted at police, referring to a female companion who was with him.

Giles appeared at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse Monday afternoon and was held on $50,000 bond.
