Chatham 14 Theaters is inviting Chicagoans to put on their best zombie costumes, slather on the living-dead makeup and participate in a “Thriller” dance-off Friday for the chance to win free tickets to the premiere of “World War Z.”

A panel of judges will award the tickets and other prizes to the top three dancers and those donning the best zombie costumes.

Local Michael Jackson impersonator Ed Hollis and his crew will kick off the ghoul-fest at 6 p.m. in the theater lobby with a 30-minute “Thriller” performance. The theater is at 210 W. 87th Street. The movie begins at 7:45 p.m.

After the performance, patrons will be invited to join in the “Thriller” dance number to boogey their way to free passes for the apocalyptic Brad Pitt flick.

“The ‘World War Z’ promotion is in line with our new plan to step outside of the routine of simply showing films, and present fun, interactive events that are guaranteed to give our customers a great night out in their very own neighborhood,” said Venisha White-Johnson, director of operations and community relations for Chatham 14 Theaters.

While movie-goers are encouraged to use zombie make-up, masks will not be permitted due to security concerns.
