When I spoke to her last Fall, Angela Webber - of the singing-sister duo The Doubleclicks - was gearing up for a geeky music and comedy concert in Chicago. We discussed whether they'd rather hang out with Hobbits or Ewoks, along with picking the proper household pet between Tribbles and Mogwai.
(You've just gotta love a gal who knows her time travel movies, IMO.)
Well, Angela and her sister Aubrey are returning next week for another show! Here are the details (and their newest music video featuring "Lasers and Feelings" from their new album is embeded above):
Songwriters from the Internet, geek-gamer sister duo The Doubleclicks will be in Chicago for a fun, acoustic concert at Wanderer’s Refuge, on June 22 at 7:30 p.m. The ladies will sing about literature, love and games. To learn more and listen, visit thedoubleclicks.com.
Upon hearing that they were passing through the Windy City again, I just had to catch up with these lovely ladies and ask some new, nerdy questions:
Geek To Me: I'm a Star Trek traditionalist myself, so I've gotta ask: Old Spock versus New Spock. Who wins in a Vulcan Nerve Pinch Duel?
Angela: I hate to say it, but probably new Spock. He's got a lot more money for special effects, so he could do some cool flying-car-chasing explosion-avoiding volcano-erupting tricks, and that would likely give him the advantage.
Geek To Me: Flying DeLorean or TARDIS, In which would you prefer taking a trip through time?
Angela: Definitely the TARDIS. We're currently in the middle of a 8,000 mile tour in a tiny sedan, so I would LOVE some more legroom and space for souvenirs.
Geek To Me: Magic Wand from Ollivander's or Sonic Screwdriver, which would you use to assemble a shelf from IKEA?
Angela: Sonic Screwdriver, because I feel like it would be easier to use, and I love the noise it makes. Plus, when you get a magic wand from Ollivander's, it always comes with some cryptic prophesies about your destiny... and sometimes you just want to assemble a shelf.
Geek To Me: In which mythical city would you like to rent a one-bedroom studio apartment?
Aubrey: The Shire, because Hobbits eat all the time.
Angela: I'd say Rivendell, definitely. Wait, are utilities included?
