Now that the 10-year strike at the Congress Plaza Hotel is finally over, it may have a new issue, according to results from a survey conducted by travel-dating website MissTravel.com.
It is not very single-friendly.
The “Worst Hotels for Singles” survey polled 1,107 singles who have visited Chicago, and 41 percent of respondents said the Congress is the worst hotel for singles ready to mingle in the city.
A major feature that single guest look for in a hotel is its clientele, which is more important than cleanliness, price and customer service, the survey found.
“Many hotels aim to maintain neutrality on the type of guests they attract,” said Brandon Wade, founder and CEO of MissTravel.com. “While this is good for business, it can sometimes alienate singles--especially those looking for a good time.”
Other hotels noted for a lack of single-people appeal include The Felix Hotel, Buckingham Athletic Club, Swissotel and Raffaello Hotel.
