What would you do with $3,469 worth of Rogaine, Crest white strips, and over-the-counter medicine? A Buffalo Grove man was caught selling the items, which were stolen property, and others to bodega owners and eBay users, state prosecutors said Thursday.

Numa Shlain, 67, was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with theft after a police investigation named "Operation Cheap Smokes," found that he had been distributing stolen drugstore merchandise.

Police also arrested two men from Orland Park, Ill. who purchased some of the goods. One of the men, Mahmooud Yassin, 60, is the owner of a discount cigarettes store on North Milwaukee Avenue, prosecutors said. The other, Yassin Yassin, is 18.

All three men appeared at the Cook Country Criminal Courthouse Thursday and were held on $10,000 bond.
