Munch your way into National Burger Day at this Albany Park bar's 75-seat landscaped beer garden with a Leader Burger (Merkts cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, house sauce; regularly $9.95), which is yours for $1 with the purchase of a Three Floyds, Goose Island, Revolution or Half Acre craft beer ($5-$8). Noon-11 p.m.

As the Cubs and Sox duke it out, you can show your allegiance with a North Side "Cure for the Curse" burger (cheeseburger stacked with a hot dog, relish, tomatoes, celery salt and more on a pretzel roll; $12) or a South Side "Put it on the Board" burger (cheese-stuffed burger with Polish sausage, beer onions and spicy mustard; $12). Partial proceeds benefit the corresponding team's official charities. 10:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Through Friday.

Settle in with $5 PBR tallboys, $5 Jameson cocktails and free popcorn as comic book creators and filmmakers Matt Kubinski and Charles Klein host screenings of short films ranging from comedy to horror—and running from 30 seconds to 20 minutes—in the 16th bi-annual competition where the winner takes home $250 cash. 8 p.m. No cover.

New York-based comedian Chris Doucette—who won Chicago's Snubfest 2011 competition and has written jokes for Jane Lynch ("Glee"), among others—headlines this monthly LGBT show featuring The [Bleep] Show founder Ever Mainard, Congrats on Your Success comedy show founder Rebecca O'Neal and host Adam Guerino. 8:30 p.m. $10-$15. Laughingstock: The Comedy Rock Show
