Takin' It to the Streets Summer Festival announces full lineup

Chicago's Takin’ It to the Streets Summer Festival announced its full artist lineup Monday.

This year’s lineup includes international and local performers, highlighted by legendary hip-hop act Black Star--featuring Yasiin Bey (a.k.a. Mos Def) and Talib Kweli, joined by Ali Shaheed Muhammad; up-and-coming international stars such as singer-songwriter Yuna; and local acts such as Rhymefest.

Islamic arts, comedians, spiritual leaders, musicians and poets also will be featured during the festival at Marquette Park from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. June 15.

Talkin’ It to the Streets was last held in Marquette Park in 2010. More than 15,000 people attended.
