Taste of Chicago reveals lineup for Celebrity Chef du Jour

The Taste of Chicago is bringing back its Celebrity Chef du Jour series with a fresh line-up of big-name local chefs.

Featured chefs for the fine-dining experience include Rick Bayless, Carrie Nahabedian, Giuseppe Tentori, Gale Gand, The Hearty Boys and Paul Kahan.

A chef is scheduled to prepare a three-course meal for every day of the festival, which will run from July 10 to 14.

Rick Bayless, Bravo’s "Top Chef Masters" Season 1 winner and the mastermind behind Frontera Grill, Topolobampo and Xoco, will prepare the opening dinner July 10.

The following day will feature a dinner by Carrie Nahabedian, chef of Naha and newly opened Brindille. 

Giuseppe Tentori of Boka and GT Fish & Oyster prepare a dinner for attendees July 12.

Pastry chef Gale Gand teams up with Dan Smith and Steve McDonagh of Hearty (aka The Hearty Boys) team up for a Saturday brunch. 

The fest will wrap with a lunch prepared by Paul Kahan (Blackbird, The Publican, Big Star), who just recently snagged a 2013 James Beard Foundation Award for outstanding chef.

Tickets for Celebrity Chef du Jour, which are $40 per person, will be available on the Taste of Chicago website at 10 a.m. Wednesdasy.

Also, pavilion tickets for the Petrillo Music Shell concerts will go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Artists scheduled to perform include Fun., Robin Thicke, Jill Scott, Neon Trees and Robert Plant Presents The Sensational Space Shifters.
