National Barbecue Month and National Burger Month both happen in May and you can celebrate the two at once with the BBQ Brisket Burger (barbecued brisket, sirloin patty, Cardona goat cheese, crispy onions, pickles, arugula and pineapple barbecue sauce; $12). Partial proceeds benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository. 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Through May 31.

Shake off post-office stress with the debut of May's Tap for Taps cocktail, which launches inside the River North Spanish spot's bar, Barcito. Created by New York bartender Dushan Zaric, the Paloma Brava ($12) is a mix of tequila, grapefruit cordial, celery bitters and club soda with a chipotle salt rim, and partial proceeds from its sale benefit Freshwater Future. As a bonus, purchase any cocktail, beer or wine during the Tapas Party and receive a complimentary bite, such as a pork belly slider or steak tartare crostini. 5-7 p.m.

Step into the new subterranean late-night bar where the $7-$12 specialty drink menu includes drop shots—twists on classic cocktails featuring shots of house-infused spirits dropped into mixers in such combos as a Mule Kick (lime-infused vodka with ginger beer; $10) and a Mexican Standoff (jalapeno-spiked tequila with bloody mary mix and beer; $10). 5 p.m.-4 a.m. No cover.

Turn 50 shades of red during a one-night stand with this musical parody of the kinky bestselling books from members of Chicago improv group Baby Wants Candy, which has earned rave reviews from Perez Hilton and has sold out shows in New York City and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. 7 p.m. $35.
