An off-duty Segway tour guide was charged with multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance yesterday after allegedly offering to sell Xanax to a woman strolling in Lincoln Park late Monday night.

Christopher McAdams, 32, of Schiller Park, was arrested on West Armitage Avenue early Tuesday morning after a woman told police officers that he asked her if she wanted to buy "a bar," and produced a white pill from his brown leather satchel, according to the police report. The report said McAdams was also in possession of 25 grams of cannabis, 21 pills that were suspected to be ecstasy, and one Viagra pill that had been stuffed into his right sock.

The public defender said McAdams, who appeared at the Cook Country Criminal Courthouse Tuesday, has been employed as a tour guide for a company that offers tours of Chicago landmarks via Segway scooters, for the past three years.
