Louisville basketball player Kevin Ware arrives at a press conference… (US Presswire )
On Wednesday, Louisville unveiled a T-shirt honoring injured player Kevin Ware as the Cardinals prepare to play in the Final Four this weekend. Some are crying foul at the $24.99 shirt price because Ware won't see a dime from sales; Adidas and the university will pocket the proceeds.
THIS ROUND: Does it matter that Kevin Ware will not benefit financially from the shirts inspired by his recovery?
Seriously, are we even going to pretend this isn't straight-up exploitation? The man suffers the most gruesome injury ever televised and now his school is "rallying" around him by making shirts at $25 a pop? It would be one thing if the proceeds went to his medical bills. Hell, I'd be happy if they went to him directly, but we're all aware that the NCAA has no issues with making a buck off the backs of the thousands of athletes under their thumb. Just disgusting.

Kevin Ware is going to travel with his teammates to his hometown of Atlanta this weekend and be a part of college basketball's grandest event. And when he looks into the Georgia Dome stands and sees all those Cardinals fans wearing his "Ri5e To The Occasion" tee, he won't be thinking about not receiving a cut of the money, he'll only be thinking about all the love and support. That'll be more important to him than the cash. Guaranteed.
