Proprietor Katherine Duncan teams up with Fig Catering chef Molly Schemper for the Fig Newton truffle—dried, brandy-soaked figs and raisins with lemon-orange zest, cinnamon, nutmeg, walnuts and chocolate ganache—which debuts today and is available through April 30 for $3 each. 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

Laugh it up and then laugh some more as the MIFF teams up with the Chicago Improv Festival for a Comedy Shorts Program which kicks off with a hosted cocktail reception followed by a filmmakers' panel, then moves into a screening of improv films and 10 scripted short cuts including the Chicago premiere of Sundance fave "'92 Skybox Alonzo Mourning Rookie Card."
