It was "game on" for video game lovers everywhere when Disney's CGI-animated feature "Wreck-It Ralph" debuted in theaters earlier this year. Starring the voice talents of John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman and Jack McBrayer, the film borrowed a page from the "Toy Story" playbook, and told the story of what video game characters do when the machines they inhabit are no longer in play.
The film is chock-full of cameos by classic video game characters, like Pac-Man and Q-Bert, as well as in-jokes that gamers are sure to enjoy. (Personally, I liked the bit when Ralph exclaims that video games have gotten really violent. That was probably the best line of the movie.)
Wreck-It Ralph is now available as a 3D Blu-Ray Combo pack, and the good folks of Disney Home Video Entertainment have given me a copy to give away to a lucky Geek To Me reader!
Now, if you'd like to win a copy of the Wreck-It Ralph Ultimate Collector's Edition, first you need to watch this funny "documentary" created by Wreck-It Ralph director Rich Moore. The film is called "Garlan Hulse: Where Potential Lives" and chronicles the trials in tribulations faced by "real-life" Fix-It Felix Jr. arcade game "champion" Garlan Hulse. It's an amusing short done in the style of "King of Kong" with a dash of "Best in Show", poking light-hearted fun at the video game craze of the 80's. Why they didn't include this short in the Blu-Ray special features is a head-scratcher.
Once you've watched the short, answer the following queestion:
What score did Garlan Hulse reach in his final attempt to break the "Fix-It Felix Jr." world record?
If you know the answer, e-mail it to me at redeyegeek[at]gmail.com, along with your name and address.
Everyone who answers correctly will be entered into a random drawing for a copy of the Wreck-It Ralph Ultimate Collector's Edition which includes the film on Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray 3D, DVD and Digital Copy.
Click HERE for more info on the Wreck-It Ralph Ultimate Collector's Editiion.
(Random drawing to be held on Friday, March 29th. Winner to be notified via e-mail. One entry per household please.)
