No, it wasn't a bet Ald. Nick Sposato (36th) lost. He wasn't having a Britney Spears moment either.

Sposato let Ald. Bob Fioretti (2nd)  shave his head Friday morning at the Chicago Fire Department Training Academy as part of a fundraiser for St. Baldrick's Foundation, which supports pediatric cancer research.

He brought in checks totalling $400. Friday's event at the academy raised $12,000 for the foundation, said event organizer Tom Murphy.

"It's a great cause. No big deal for me to shave my head," said Sposato, whose dad died of cancer. "It's all about creating awareness and getting people involved."
