6 songs to get Chicago fans PUMPED!

February 27, 2013|By Ernest Wilkins, RedEye

This just in from Canada: The Vancouver Canucks held an online contest to pick the song the team skates out to before the game (Japandroids beat out Nickelback). C'mon, we all know Chicago never takes a backset to Vancouver. These blood-pumping tunes are guaranteed to get Chicago crowds amped from the start.

.

Cubs

"Riding The Storm Out," REO Speedwagon

I almost suggested "L's Anthem" by Lil' Durk, honestly, both for local ties and the fact the Cubs see a lot of "L"s over the course of the season. Instead, let's go with "Riding The Storm Out." Also, find a way to get J.D. McPherson's "North Side Gal" played during the game.

.

White Sox

"Cowboys from Hell," Pantera

This is a tough one. AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" is a quality fit, but we can do better. "Cowboys from Hell" shreds and kind of fits the "South Side Hitmen" mystique. Also, it has that amazing "They say the bad guys wear black" line.

.

Bulls

"Sirius," The Alan Parsons Project

A case of something not being able to do better than the original. stays as their theme.

.

Bears

"Put On," Young Jeezy

The best song about Chicago not made about a Chicagoan but featuring one (Kanye West). Kill the lights and just play the instrumental. Feel that? Goosebumps.

.

Fire

"This Fire," Killswitch Engage

Want to make soccer more exciting? Play this before the team takes the pitch. It even has "Fire" in the title! Listen to the chorus: "Even through the darkest days, this fire burns always." HOW ARE YOU NOT READY TO BICYCLE KICK SOMEONE IN THE TRACHEA NOW?

.

Blackhawks

"Raining Blood." Slayer

Keep "Chelsea Dagger" for the goal song, it's become the toast of the NHL. However, this should be the track you hear as the Blackhawks take the ice. The Madhouse would absolutely be ready to explode.
