Target has landed a bull’s-eye in Lakeview.
Company spokesperson Erika Winkels confirmed Friday that Target has purchased the property at 3201 N. Ashland Ave. and plans to build a store in the space. The spokesperson declined to release further details, including purchase price or a planned opening date.
“Chicago is a great market for Target and we continue to pursue new opportunities to serve guests there,” Winkels said in an emailed statement.
The former LaSalle Bank property sits near the intersection of Lincoln, Ashland and Belmont Avenues in Lakeview. According to the Cook County Assessor’s Office, the property is about 75,000 square feet, and was assessed at about $1.2 million in 2012.
