Fall Out Boy reunites

The return of Fall Out Boy is something the world's 20-somethings have been waiting for and counting on in these hard times, with no music melancholy and self-pitying enough to quell all our feelings, no one to be our No. 1 with a bullet.

Fear not, milennials! Fall Out Boy has indeed returned, releasing a new song, promising a new album and tour and an "intimate show" Monday night in Chicago at Subterranean, according to a press release. That's right, Feb. 4. We'd suggest get your tickets ASAP, but it sold out in minutes already.

Their new song boasts an appropriate gratuitous title, one that would have passive-aggressively topped countless AIM profiles back in the day, "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)." It sounds a little like hair metal (awesome) and will be the single from the ironically titled album, "Save Rock and Roll." Fall Out Boy, why did you ever leave?

They tried to convince us they weren't coming back, too.

Pete Wentz recently told Chicago Tribune's Luis Gomez "I'd say ... don't hold your breath that it's happening."

Well, it is happening.
