White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham didn't get a ring on the field in 2012.

Once the season ended, however, that was a different story.

"I got engaged [to "Amazing Race" contestant Brittany Fletcher], so that was kind of a big one," he said.

Beckham and other Sox players converged on the Palmer House Hilton last weekend for the team's annual fan extravaganza, Sox Fest. In addition to getting engaged, the Georgia native spent a lot of time hunting.

"I mainly like to hunt deer, so that's obviously a fall sport," Beckham said. "When baseball season comes around, it's baseball, it's not hunting."

So are there any similarities between hunting a deer and hitting a baseball?

"No no, because I'm a lot better at shooting a deer," he said.

Here's what some of Beckham's teammates were up to in the offseason.

Chris Sale

"My wife and I, we bought a house during spring training and didn't get to see it at all before we moved in and [we've] been kind of piecing that together. It's kind of been our project for the offseason outside of the baseball world."

"We [also] went to a couple of weddings. Went down to Puerto Rico for Alex Rios' wedding, over to Fort Lauderdale for Edwin Jackson's wedding. Those are kind of our mini-trips."

Tyler Flowers

"I got my daughter at home. That's all the fun I need for now. Interacting with her, hanging out with my wife as much as I can. Other than that, getting ready for baseball."

Jake Peavy

"Exciting for me is waking up on the ranch [in Alabama] and saddling horses and getting on bulldozers. I know it sounds boring and awful to a lot of people, but it's time for me to exhale and just kind of get out of the hustle and bustle. I'm such a laid-back personality. I know a lot of people probably can't see that side of me, but I enjoy the winter and spending quality daddy time with my boys and the outdoors and going to their football games."
