Lunar New Year festivities in Uptown

January 15, 2013|By Zara Husaini @zarhus

You may have celebrated the new year (in fabulously sloppy fashion) on December 31st, but just in case that didn’t completely tap you out, another new year celebrated is just on the horizon.

The Lunar New Year begins on February 10th.  This year, that day marks the start of the year of the snake.

Celebrate the start of this new year on Argyle Street in Uptown on February 16 at 1 pm.  A lion and dragon will dance around the neighborhood, and foreign dignitaries, a marching band and racks of firecrackers will be part of the festivities.
