ArcLight Cinemas plans to open a Chicago location in the summer of 2014, the theatre’s first location in the Midwest and second outside of California.
ArcLight is a well-known cinema chain in California--for 10 years, it’s given West Coasters the chance to watch movies in what's billed as a luxurious environment. The theatres include extra-wide-seats, black box theatres and reserved premium seating.
Construction on the Chicago location, which is part of a nation-wide expansion, has begun in Lincoln Park at the Clyborn Retail Corridor, just south of Halsted Street.
In addition to 14 screens, the Chicago location will include a full bar and cafe. Guests 21 and over can drink beer, wine or liquor in the theatre’s lounge--and drinking during certain screenings will be allowed as well.
