Skating at Millennium Park? So 2012.

This year, for the first time ever, Office Max will host two free skating events at Soldier Field, which hasn't hosted a public skating event since the 1930s. Tickets will be given out at various Office Max locations throughout the city.

A total of 3,000 passes will be made available to the public starting on Jan. 6. They’ll be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis, so be sure to stop by early for your chance to skate at Soldier Field.

The free events will take place on from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Feb. 2 and 18, and when participants go to pick up their tickets, they must select a date and time slot. The passes only allow entrance to Soldier Field’s rink--skate rentals and parking are not included.

Here are the addresses of the Office Max locations that will hand out passes to the events:

  • Fullerton Plaza: 1829 W. Fullerton Ave., Chicago
  • Rivercrest Shopping Center: 4921 W. Cal-Sag Road, Crestwood
  • Forest Plaza: 6455 East State St., Rockford
