If you're not going somewhere for the holidays this December, chances are someone will be coming to you. And if that's not the case either, well, you'll still need to be entertained, dammit. Here are some of the December highlights we've rounded up, holiday-spirited and otherwise, for the enjoyment of all Chicagoans and their visitors this month.

Where: Daley Plaza
Chicago's huge open-air Christmas festival features some great German food, European hand-crafted items and art, and a Santa house for kids.
ZooLights at Lincoln Park Zoo
When: Every Friday-Sunday until Dec. 26, then nightly until Jan. 6
Where: Lincoln Park Zoo
The Christmas lights at Lincoln Park Zoo feature a lighting ceremony each time they are lit, complete with 3D glasses and displays. There is also warm spiced wine and frosty lagers along with live ice-carving.
When: Dec. 7, 7 p.m.
Where: Houndstooth Bar, Wrigleyville
Cost: $50-60, $20 for dogs (Buy tickets)
Raise money for the One Tail at a Time Dog Rescue efforts by attending this party, which features a buffet dinner, open bar, silent auction and photo booth.
Lakeview Christmas Market
When: Dec. 7, 2:30 p.m., Dec. 8 & 9, noon
Where: 1550 W. Belmont Ave.
A new event that will be held in a heated tent so you can stay warm. It will feature seasonal food, crafts and live holiday music, among other things.
When: Dec. 9, 10 a.m.
Where: River East Art Center
Cost: $10 day-of, $8 advance (Buy tickets)
The monthly Chicago market of food and fashion hosts its holiday edition, where you can find seasonal drinks, food and crafts from some of the best local makers.
Vintage Garage Trunk Show
When: Dec. 8 & 9, 11 a.m.
Where: 1134 W. Granville
Vintage Garage Chicago takes its outdoor summer festival indoors for the winter season. The two-day sale is free if you check in on Yelp or Facebook, and offers clothing, jewelery, memorabilia, furniture, appliances, and much more, all vintage.
Kerry Wood book signing
When: Dec. 11, 7 p.m.
Where: Anderson's Bookshop
The retired Chicago Cubs legend Kid K will be signing copies of his first book, "All You Can Be: Learning & Growing Through Sports."
When: Dec. 11, 7 p.m. & 9:30 p.m.
Where: Tivoli Theatre
Cost: $5 (Admission at door)
The historic theatre plans to have two showings of the Bill Murray holiday classic and will have its pipe organ going for singalongs before and after.
When: Dec. 13, 9 p.m.
Unfortunately, tickets for this show are sold out, probably because of their excellent album this year, "Celebration Rock." You'll have to find tickets on StubHub or the like for this one, folks.
29th Annual Music Box Christmas Show
When: Dec. 14-16, Dec 20-24
Where: Music Box Theatre
Cost: $12 single, $17 double feature (advance); $14 single, $20 double feature (day-of) (Buy tickets)
For two weekends, the Music Box theatre will be having its annual sing-and-watch-along, showing holiday classics "White Christmas" and "It's a Wonderful Life." Specific showing times are available on the website.
LMFAO (DJ set)
When: Dec. 22
Where: The Mid
Cost: $10 (Buy tickets)
The "Sexy and I Know It" guys hit the boards for a DJ set--should be interesting to see what that's all about.
