Christmas tree delivery in Chicago? It's a real thing

December 04, 2012|By Zara Husaini @zarhus

There’s nothing quite as festive as picking out a Christmas tree, strapping it to your car and driving it to its home for the season. It’s a rite of passage that people of all ages can enjoy.

People of all ages who have the time to spend on this elaborate routine, that is. And most of us ... well, don’t.

There’s also the matter of transporting the tree: A lot of us urban dwellers don’t have cars, so unless you plan to make your next CTA ride even more of a [bleep] show than it already is, you may want to avoid taking your tree home via public transportation.  Opt for a delivery service instead.

Chicago Christmas Tree Lots:

The local chain has locations scattered throughout the city, all of which offer delivery.  Unlike a lot of places that sell artificial trees, these are the real deal.  After all, what’s the point of getting a Christmas tree if it doesn’t smell like a Christmas tree?

City Tree Delivery:

Visit citytreedelivery.com for free delivery.  The lot is located in the Wicker Park area – it’s actually in the parking lot of Big Star.  Part of the trees’proceeds benefit green charities and Chicago schools.   Stop in to browse the selection and place a delivery order.

Chicago’s Marcel Florist:

The floral shop delivers top-of-the-line trees anywhere within city limits.  For an additional charge, you can also have your tree set up by a staff member.  Price varies by height, so a towering tree may cost you as much as $224.99 even without setup.
