2012 has certainly been Chief Keef's year: the 17-year-old Chicago emcee was freed from prison, dropped "Don't Like," was remixed by Kanye, performed at Lolla, tweeted in bad taste over a rival rapper's death, Instagrammed oral sex, signed to a major label and is getting his own Beats by Keef headphones. And he's also going to release a real album with music.
That's assuming his "Finally Rich" album from Interscope doesn't get pushed back from its Dec. 18 release date, which has pretty much become the standard for most rap albums anymore. The debut LP from Keef got a tracklisting Monday, and, not surprisingly, features some pretty big guest verses.
"Love Sosa," the single from Young Chop that's been burning up of late, leads off the album. "Don't Like" hits in the three hole with the classic assist from Lil Reese. More already-heard tracks: the Young Jeezy collab "Understand Me" oddly precedes a "3 Hunna" remix with Jeezy's nemesis, Rick Ross, and Wiz Khalifa and 50 Cent hop on "Hate Bein' Sober." Filling out the features is French Montana on "Diamonds."
The album art is classic Keef, armed with a lighter and blowing loud. There aren't any production credits with the listing, but one can assume that you'll hear a lot of the "Young-Chop-on-the-beat" baby on "Rich." With the release of this listing and the artwork, you might actually hear it on time too.
