November 09, 2012|By Tracy Swartz | RedEye

Chicago on Friday recorded its 450th homicide of the year, a RedEye analysis of preliminary police data found.

A 17-year-old boy was shot to death in the 2600 block of West 83rd Street in Ashburn, police said.
Chicago has already surpassed last year's homicide toll of 444 killings.

Seven homicides have been recorded so far this month. Thirty-nine homicides were logged in November 2011, RedEye determined.
