"Gangnam Style," the dream-turned-meme song-and-dance of one South Korean man, was certified as a double platinum single by the RIAA for exceeding 2,000,000 in digital sales. In doing so, PSY's unlikely hit joins the likes of timeless classics such as "Jesus, Take the Wheel" and "My Humps."
While it never reached the number one spot on the US charts (thanks Maroon 5), "Gangnam" has become the most-liked video on YouTube. It's still second place in terms of views there because of "Baby," but the sales numbers are all the validation that PSY needs, no doubt.
