We put our Twitter followers to the test before every Bears game. At stake: a chance to join our Four Score panel. Here are this week’s question and answer:
If you added the current populations of the college towns (where the school is based, not necessarily where the stadium is) of every Bears linebacker on the roster, how many times would they fill up a sold-out Soldier Field?
Here are the population figures we used:
Lance Briggs (Tucson, Ariz.): 525,796
Blake Costanzo (Easton, Pa.): 26,995
Geno Hayes (Tallahasse, Fla.): 182,965
Nich Roach (Evanston): 74,785
J.T. Thomas (Morgantown, W.Va.): 30,293
Brian Urlacher (Albuquerque, N.M.): 552,804
Add the populations and you get 1,393,638. Divide that by 61,500 (Soldier Field’s capacity), and you get 22.66. Allowing for a reasonable margin for error, we chose a winner at random from the correct entries, and this week it’s Walter Brzeski (@beastradamus). Congrats! Thanks to all who participated, and look for the next Challenge on Friday.
