When it comes to Halloween in Chicago, there's no such thing as being all dressed up with no place to go. If you're dying to get out, try these bashes and bar crawls where you can welcome the witching hour with other creatures of the night.

4 CREEPY CRAWLS

A Nightmare on Hubbard Street
Slash your way through seven River North bars until 7 p.m. with such tricks and treats as $3-$4 domestic beers, $5 shots and $5-$6 specialty well drinks, door prizes, a costume contest and a 3 p.m. stop at Moe's Cantina (155 W. Kinzie St.) for a buffet of sliders and side dishes. Other stops include English, Public House, Bull & Bear, Bar Louie, Epic and Theory.

Halloweekend Pub Crawl
Step into the dim unknown—or, more accurately, 15-20 secret locations—on this Lakeview undertaking where potion specials include $2 draft and $3 bottle beers and $4 well drinks until 11 p.m.

Creepin Halloween Trolley Crawl
Something wicked (good) this way comes in the form of 20 beer-stocked trolleys that cruise between 11 spots in Lincoln Park, Old Town, River North and River West every 15 minutes until 3 a.m.
Start: 8 p.m. Saturday at Fado, 100 W. Grand Ave.
Tickets: $30. Buy online at mydrinkon.com until 11:59 p.m. Thursday or purchase in person at Fado between 6 and 10 p.m. Friday.

Chicago Avenue Halloween Bar Crawl
Dress to impress—the judges, that is—at this jaunt featuring costume contests with $100 prizes at Cleos (10:30 p.m.), Roots Handmade Pizza (1924 W. Chicago Ave.; midnight)—which was a funeral parlor in a former life—and the last resting place, High Dive (1938 W. Chicago Ave.; 1:30 a.m.), all of which feature $3 Jameson shots and $4 craft beer pints until 3 a.m.

Superheroes vs. Villains
Vamp it up at this "good versus evil" party where DJs spin black magic—salsa, meringue, pop, hip-hop and more—on four dance floors, costumed servers at 10 bars serve up $10 Grey Goose vodka cocktails including the Vampire Kiss (cherry vodka and cola) and your cape or pitchfork could win you a $1,000 prize package in a themed costume contest.

Monsters, ghouls and super freaks can take refuge from savage humans in the event of an apocalypse at this bash which features top-shelf cocktails (10 p.m.-1 a.m.), a contest with $500 prizes for the scariest and sexiest costumes and boo-tylicious beats by the Dance Floor Junkies.

Dead Can Dance
Dress up and get down to dark and stormy tunes by DJ Joe 'Bone Daddy' Bryl with vintage Mexican horror films as a visual backdrop. Spirits specials include $5 Dogfish Head Punkin Ale, Arcadia Jawjacker and Southern Tier Pumking brews and $9 Rittenhouse 100 rye-based Bloodsucker and pumpkin puree-based White Walker cocktails.

Demons are a ghoul's best friend at this bash, where the Pride Parade (7 p.m.) is televised on 36 TVs and a projection screen. Come as you aren't for the $500 costume contest or just sip $7.50 Juliet shots (Don Julio tequila and Tuaca) and tequila-spiked hot apple cider as your drop-dead gorgeous self.
