1 is the Bears' ugliest number

So long Chris Williams, you will not be missed.

That's a harsh way to say goodbye, but the Bears are still in cleansing mode. Cleansing from the brutal, abysmal record of Jerry Angelo's first-round draft picks. After we say goodbye to Williams, we are left with one. One Jerry Angelo first-rounder on the team (not counting Cutler, whom he traded for). One first-rounder in 11 years of drafts. One. Here's the bad news. It's Gabe Carimi. He's already been badly hurt and he's already mediocre. You have to admire the consistency.

Here's a fantastic Williams quote: "I'm already talking to some other teams and should have another job lined up."

Yeah, Chris. Huge market out there for softies from Vanderbilt. That answering machine must be full!

We'll take a break from burying Angelo and celebrate the annual return of the Lions to Soldier Field. Let's make it an early Thanksgiving and say our thanks for these losers. Truly, they are the Cubs of the National Football League. And usually, not always, but usually, a proud Bears fan can look at the NFL schedule when it comes out and say "two wins over Detroit!"

Seriously, nice win over the Eagles. Sixteen penalties in that one. That's six more than 10. They have the game's greatest receiver and still aren't quite sure how to use him. Their defense is pure thuggery, and their coach uses the old "us against them" mentality that the old Raiders used to use. The difference is, of course, the Raiders were good!

That's a win for the Bears despite Gabe Carimi.

Back to the home front. Bad news: The NBA season starts in like, two weeks. And these guys are brutal.

You remember that fantastic group called the "Bench Mob." Well, they have now been downgraded to "The Island of Misfit Toys."

I mean, Nate Robinson. Nazr Mohammed. Marco Belinelli (The Indycar driver?)

Look, I appreciate effort and hard work as much as the next guy, but this is …

Put it this way: Nazr Mohammed has been in the league 14 years. I think he's already getting his pension.

Don't rush back, D-Rose.
