Local chocolate-maker Katherine Duncan has opened her own storefront candy shop selling hand-crafted marshmallows, caramels, truffles and hot chocolate. Try the limited edition Bad Ass bourbon-bacon truffle made with chocolate ganache, City Provisions bacon and Few Spirits Bad Ass bourbon ($3; profits donated to the Scleroderma Foundation of Illinois). 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

No one goes hungry during Pig Out for Charity, where police officers face off in a round robin-style burger eating competition to benefit two local charities while you fill up with a food buffet, Svedka vodka cocktails and Bud Light beer. ABC-TV Channel 7 personality Jim Rose hosts the competition, 42nd Ward alderman Brendan Reilly eats the ceremonial first burger and live acoustic music keeps the party going. 7:30-10 p.m. $20-$25. Andersonville, you've got a new neighbor: The LM Restaurant Group's newest location sets up shop in the former Premise and In Fine Spirits space serving dishes such as beef bourguignon ($18) and brick chicken with fingerling potatoes, caramelized onions and spinach ($17). 11 a.m.-11 p.m.

Two Mountain Wine co-owner Matt Rawn arrives at the Mag Mile wine bar to discuss small-production vintages from his family's Washington winery. Try a Two Mountain tasting ($19), which includes pours of the 2011 Yakima Valley chardonnay, Hidden Horse VII red blend and a 2009 syrah, which you can pair with a $9 mushroom flatbread. 6-8 p.m.

Laught Out Loud

Outloud Chicago founder Adam Guerino steps onstage to host his long-running Queer Comedy showcase, where Gwen La Roka, Liza Treyger, Tom Fell and Archer Coe aim to show that funny is funny, no matter what your gender preference. 8:30 p.m. $10-$15.
