EAT

Make and Take
Bar Toma 110 E. Pearson St. 312-266-3110

It's less about the vessels and more about what's in them at Bottles & Jars, where you learn how to make the restaurant's signature giardiniera, goat cheese and marmalade and jar them to take home. Admission includes select wines and the tequila-spiked One Last Summer cocktail and passed appetizers. 6-9 p.m. $40. RSVP required.

DRINK

Photo and Prosecco
Tuscany Cafe 77 W. Wacker Drive 312-252-0863

Meet local photographer Nick Ulivieri over complimentary prosecco and appetizers (5:30-6:30 p.m.), $5 martinis and $4 glasses of house wine and view works from his exhibition, "The Skies of Chicago," which features city views, landscapes and extreme weather. A raffle for an Ulivieri drawing benefits the Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation. 5:30-8:30 p.m. No cover.

Brown Bag It
Due Lire 4520 N. Lincoln Ave. 773-275-7878

The restaurant waives its $20 corkage fee for BYOV—Bring Your Own Vino—an interactive tasting where you bring your favorite bottle wrapped in a brown paper bag and challenge owner Massimo Di Vuolo to a blind taste test. He samples it, discusses your preferences, offers tastings of comparable wines and suggests menu pairings. 5-10 p.m.
