Bonny's Bar, which opened in Logan Square in November of 2010 and became a fast favorite in Logan Square for its DJ sets and laid-back late-night dance scene, announced that it will close on Saturday, Sept. 22.

Owner Andy Gould said he and business partner Russ Grant are in litigation with the space's landlords. Gould declined to comment on the nature of the litigation but said that "the city doesn't want anyone operating the business until the court has ruled."

This isn't the end of Bonny's and its beloved dance parties, said Gould. "It might be in the current location in the future or it might be in a different location, but we’re going to pursue carrying on the legacy."

The bar will open early (by 8 p.m.) on Friday and Saturday and offer drink specials in honor of its closing weekend. As for the DJ lineup, Team Bayside High is set to spin tonight, while Johnnie Walker and Huggies Supreme are lined up for Friday night and The Fancy Boys will spin Saturday night.
