R&B albums are always a treat, aren't they? There's the song about sex, the one about making love, the one about being in love ... you get the gist.
The new tape from Chicago artist Jeremih (remember "Birthday Sex"?) isn't breaking that mold, but it sure does try. See, the formula that's applied to modern rap mixtapes (frequently unneccesary DJ drops/banter, mostly) doesn't fit exactly with the style of records included on the tape. There are some weird transitions from super-uptempo songs to ballads that make it a bit distracting for people who listen to things from start to finish. The highlights on "Late Nights" stick out like needles in a haystack (of love). "773 Love" is a falsetto-tinged ode to calling when you want to get loved up on, and "Go to the Mo" and "Girls Go Wild" are going to be played in the club sooner rather than later.
