Prince holds court, Week 7: Back in the game

August 12, 2012|By Epiphanny Prince | For RedEye

It's been a rough road recently, both for guard Epiphanny Prince and the Chicago Sky, as Prince's broken foot forces her to sit on the sidelines while her team struggles. As she prepares to return, however, Prince gives RedEye an exclusive look at her journey back to health. Here's the final installment.

Week 7

Finally! I'm balling again.

It's been seven weeks since I broke my foot in Indiana. When you are rehabbing, seven weeks is a long, long time.

I'm still feeling some pain in my foot, and I know there is still a lot of work for me to do, but I'm practicing with the team again, getting some extra shots in with [assistant coach] Christie [Sides] and running as much as I can to get back into game shape. I'm also working out my new KDs, which I'm switching to because they work well with the orthotics I've got to wear that give me more support and get my alignment right.

If everything keeps going well, I'll be going full out on Monday. And then, if I don't run into any problems, you should see me on the floor Friday night against the Dream. You know I'm looking forward to that.

So I just want to say to all my fans, my friends, my coaches and my family that have supported me through this process—THANK YOU. I couldn't have done it without you.

See you at Allstate!
