EAT

It takes two

Floriole Cafe & Bakery, 1220 W. Webster Ave. 773-883-1313

Owner Sandra Holl and Pasta Puttana proprietor Jessica Volpe team up to improve your Monday with a five-course dinner. On the menu: Parmigiano Pasta Grattugiata with fennel and shrimp and a white-wine-and-chili trenette baked in parchment packages with clams, sausage, cream and dandelion greens. 7 p.m. $75 plus tax and gratuity. Say cheese

Benny's Chop House, 444 N. Wabash Ave. 312-626-2444

Rumor has it that in ancient times, cheesecake was served to Olympic athletes as a source of energy. The River North restaurant commemorates that tradition with Cheesecake Day and introduces a new s'mores cheesecake made with milk chocolate, graham cracker and a great big marshmallow. 11 a.m.-midnight. $8.99.

DRINK

Competition cocktails

The Boundary, 1932 W. Division St. 773-278-1919

The Wicker Park spot gets you into the spirit(s) of the Olympics with specials such as the Gold Medal (Jeremiah Weed Country Peach and summer shandy; $8) and the Team USA (Ketel Oranje, grenadine, soda, Sprite and Blue Curacao; $7). 11 a.m.-2 a.m.

DO

Ready, aim, laugh

Logan Square Auditorium, 2539 N. Kedzie Ave. 773-252-6179

Scott Aukerman blends his TV show, podcast and L.A. stand-up showcase into the Comedy Bang! Bang! Live Tour, which also features "Last Comic Standing" Season 10 competitor James Adomian and Upright Citizens' Brigade founder—and former Chicagoan—Matt Besser. The 10 p.m. show's sold out, but you can still get tickets for the early performance. 7 p.m. $25. RSVP: ticketweb.com.

Poetry in motion

The Viaduct Theater, 3111 N. Western Ave. 773-296-6024

Long-running poetry slam show Mental Graffiti—hosting monthly throwdowns since 1998—moves to a new location to add under-21 spoken word artists. Bring your verse for the open mic (16+) or compete for a spot on the National Poetry Slam-bound Chicago team (18+). Then, see wordsmithery in action by featured local poets Rachel "Raych" Jackson and Robert Brown. 8 p.m. $5.
