As if we weren't looking forward to the London Olympics enough, Victoria Beckham had to go and turn the excitement dial up to 11. The international woman of mystery confirmed to British Vogue this week that the Spice Girls will in fact reunite to play the Games' closing ceremony. While we're not exactly shocked—rumors had been flying for months—it's impossible not to be thrilled by the prospect of Queen Elizabeth singing along to "Wannabe." (Duchess Catherine obviously will teach her all the words.) Let's check in with the Spices, '90s-style and now.

Geri Halliwell

Alias: Ginger Spice

Then: The leader of the pack, Ginger had the best hair, the most exciting voice and the fantastic Union Jack dress. We're still trying to get our hands on one.

Now: Totally unreliable British tabloid sources claim she's talking smack about Posh, which we really wouldn't do if we were her. She also launched a swimwear line last year, and appears to still be in tip-top shape.

Victoria Beckham

Alias: Posh Spice

Then: Early Spice Girls photos reveal Posh actually used to smile. She kicked that habit pretty quickly, instead becoming known for her soccer hottie husband, icy exterior and truly terrible singing voice

Now: As if we even need to tell you. What Posh lacked in pipes, she made up for with business sense, launching a global fashion and child-bearing empire.

Melanie Brown

Alias: Scary Spice

Then: Two words: Hair horns. Scary was never shy about wearing her specs in public, something plenty of pop stars shy away from. Of course, she also wasn't shy about wearing a bra instead of a shirt, so take that with a grain of salt.

Now: She's found a new home down under, picking up A judging job on Australian "X-Factor," and is currently working on a new album. Oh, and she had Eddie Murphy's baby in 2007.

Emma Bunton

Alias: Baby Spice

Then: Wearer of the blondest hair and tallest platform Sketchers. Baby was definitely our late-'90s spirit animal.

Now: This Baby's got two babies of her own now—and apparently was co-host of a delightful British TV show called "Dancing on Ice." Does she herself dance on ice? We do not know.

Melanie Chisholm

Alias: Sporty Spice

Then: Every gaggle of ladies needs a tomboy, but Sporty actually showed up to meet the queen in pants and gym shoes. There is photographic evidence.

Now: Her new album, "Senses," is set for aU.K. release in September, and we're hoping she classes it up a bit around the royal folk for the Olympics.

And finally ...

A special RedEye shout-out goes to the toy bus that jumped the Tower Bridge gap in "Spice World." You absolutely stole the show.
