Lollapalooza launches first pop-up shop

Lollapalooza will launch its first-ever pop-up shop on Friday, July 27 through Monday, August 6.

Presented by C3, the "LollaShop" will give ticket and non-ticket holders the opportunity to purchase official goods before the gates open to the annual music festival being held August 3-5.

The retail location will be set up at Michigan and Van Buren (332 S Michigan Ave), despite earlier reports that it would be held at the Thompson - Chicago Hotel, which is still under construction and scheduled to open in spring 2013.

VIP events will take place in a lounge and performance area that will be designed by the Thompson Hotel. The lounge will resemble the chic hotel's lobby, offering a sneak peek into the hotel's own lounge.

The shop will serve as an extension of the popular festival and will include T-shirts, branded items, signings with festival performers, the official Lollapalooza T-shirt provided by Gap, brand experiences by retail partners including Adidas, festival after-parties, as well as fashion- and music-focused programming throughout the week.

Other partners and more retail programming will be announced in the coming weeks.

The hours for the pop-up shop are scheduled for Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sunday 12 p.m.-7 p.m. and 10 a.m.-11 p.m. on the days of the festival.
