Fest season will be especially hard to ignore this weekend in Lakeview. Chicago's 10th annual Pride Fest, a celebration for the LGBT community and its supporters, is set to hit this Friday and Saturday, leading up to Sunday's Pride Parade down Broadway at noon. If you've never been, it's one super-crowded, super-fun weekend-long party not to miss. Just be sure to hydrate.

Pride Fest

When: 4-10 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday

Where: Halsted Street and Waveland Avenue in Lakeview

Cost: $7 suggested donation

Partying for a cause: All those "suggested donations" you're paying this summer typically do go to charity. In the case of Pride Fest, your bucks benefit the Northalsted Business Alliance. The group works to support the more than 80 stores, bars and restaurants along Boystown's bustling Halsted Street.

Never a dull moment: Once you're through the gates, expect non-stop entertainment with two stages packed with performers all weekend. Acts include local cover bands, drag performers and national music acts including R&B singer and American Idol alum Frenchie Davis and pop crooner JoJo.

More on the menu: Arts and crafts vendors and plenty of food booths will also be featured through the weekend. If you have a prideful pet, the annual Pet Pride Parade is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Saturday and includes prizes for the top participants.
